I always say that if I were ever to embark on an epic tour, I'd go to Scotland or Ireland. Doesn't someplace like that seem like a perfect destination for a crazy sheep lady?
Actually, I have a childhood friend now living in France who spends quite a bit of time in Switzerland who sends me the very best sheep pictures. That she takes while out walking/hiking/climbing/skiing in breathtakingly beautiful places. And sends me in emails titled "To add to the collection." :-)
Look! It's Boudreaux! Well, except for the fact that this big black and brown sheep seems to have climbed a rather large, um, hill...and Boudreaux needs to climb some really big hills ;-). Poor Boudreaux.
So, where would you go for a sheepy vacation?

1. New Zealand!!! More sheep than people, cool hikes, and I'd love to see a fantail. Then,
2. hop across the pond for a short visit to Australia, to also see the fruit bats, roos, & cockatoos in flocks. wow!
Realistically, the 5-hour drive to your hug-a-sheep day would be less tiring, and to meet your sheep & give them vanilla wafers... I think that would give more deep contentment.

hmm, those ears ..... those sheep would fit right in with my Angora, Nubian and Boer goats, LOL. Have not seen sheep with those long ears before.
Are you kidding? With a name like MacDonald, Scotland is #1 on the list of must-do places for us. (Hopefully, before I'm too old and feeble to enjoy it!)

I'd go to Scotland or England, I really want to see the beautiful countrysides, enjoy the views, the history and everything else.
I want to go THERE and scritch the ears on that white sheep. Right now.
#1 sheepy vacation site would be Equinox Farm where I could sit with the sheep that have become like old pals through Punkin's Patch blog.
#2 England so I could tour around and bother all the Cotswold breeders there.
#3 Aus and NZ, same an Anonymous
I want to go there! If you go take me with you. We can bring all of our finished knits and photograph wearing them there! Those pictures are amazing. I wish I had that view on my hikes.
I've never been to Ireland, but did see sheep, sheep everywhere in Scotland..
New Zealand!!! Second would be Scotland. I've been to Scotland, but missed the train for our tour into the highlands by 5 minutes. I grumbled for hours. ;)

My dream trip has always been the same as yours – Scotland and Ireland. Actually, I would love to visit all the British Isles, spending my time to see popular sites as well as go off the beaten path, riding horses, visiting museums, etc. Won't happen; glad I have blogs to bring me closer!

I am already saving. When the youngest goes off to college, I go to Scotland. No empty nest syndrome here!

I would choose the Equinox farm where not only is the view a slice of heaven on earth, but there are sheep to pet and hug who will love you for a 'nilla wafer. Costs a pittance for a priceless memory for the sense and the heart.
I'm with Alice--though, Ontario is now my "sheep vacation" destination these days!
