You gotta love a blog post that starts like that, eh?
So, the last post was a lovely picture of some early morning sunbeams filtering through the trees in the front field. I mentioned that I thought it would have been nice if those ungrateful sheep had gone up there to graze as I'd asked them to (for a nice photo op) rather than foraging through the creek bed (full of weeds and burrs). Christine leaves this comment:
But is it?
Or does she know something we don't know?
Or is it just me??
Am I the only one clueless to the whole sheep being abducted by aliens issue???
I've seen references to that in a couple places and I think it has something to do with a video game maybe? But here's an oddity (or is it?) we found on eBay several years ago.
I can't remember the exact translation, but it has something to do with praying to a certain saint for protection against the sheep being abducted by aliens.
In 1981!
Saint Tim purchased it as a novelty and we hung it with (insert nervous laughter) pride near our front door.
I wonder if that's the only reason Peabody is still here???
Oddly, when we got Peabody from a friend about 9 or 10 years ago, she mentioned that her husband thought the Border Cheviots looked like aliens (!).
It's foggy...but I think...the pieces...are all starting to fit together...
Seriously, does anyone know the actual reason(s) for the sheep/spaceship connection?
Anyone?
Tap tap tap.
Is this thing on?
Where did everyone go???

"I'll bet they are afraid they might get sucked up to a space ship, so they avoid all sunbeams. Makes perfect sense."Which is only one of the many reasons why we all love Christine :-).

That's funny .... love captions both you and Christine come up with for animal pictures. Love the pointy ears on the Cheviots.

Oh no aliens don't take the sheep! Wait are there aliens? I think it's safe to say if none of your sheep disappear there are no aliens. If there are aliens let them take the coyotes.
That's great Christine :-D
So that's where crop circles come from -- Thanks Christine!
I agree with Andee -- let the aliens take the coyotes.

can't wait to hear this one
You're so funny! I really love checking in every day to be entertained. Thanks!
I don't know why I thought of you and I when I first watched that video, but I did. I guess I figured we'd both go with our sheep.
My kids say there is a video game where llamas get sucked up into spaceships but aren't aware of one involving sheep abduction. I'm all curious now too!
It would explain so much...
"Just shaking head."
You and Christine are delirious from this infernal heat and you both need to sit in front of the fan...seriously. ;-)
Hmmmmm I always thought aliens were into cattle. At least some of the boys don't have to worry about alien abduction... They are too big for even a tractor beam to pull up...WHAHAAAAAA.. wink, wink, nudge,nudge..:-))))
I LOVE that painting! and my Hairy IS an alien! I am not kidding.. c
Google Translate says:
Holy Child of Atocha to save my sheep of a flying saucer that appeared in the yard of my house.

I think the artist has a sense of humor!

LOVE Christine's video! Sheep are really aliens..hmmm...that would explain why Graham Lamb is so good with machinery...He didn't get the memo about hiding his technological abilities.
Too funny!
actually last sunday someone who's studing bible told me that sheep ARE aliens...God take them on earth because he loves their meat.
Poor sheep, lucky us!
