"Warm Wishes"

"It's the most wonderful ti-i-i-i-i-me of the year." Well, maybe not in the midst of the painting and print proofing, but once it's done, we're all smiles.

This is the sixth year we've designed, painted and printed a farm holiday greeting card. Some years we've known right away what we wanted to do; some years it's a photo finish. This year I added the pressure of a December 5th deadline so I could do another reminder for Holiday Mail for Heroes.

Since this is the weekend many of us will be writing out our Christmas greetings, please take a couple extra minutes to send a few cards to our soldiers and their families. If you'll do that, I'll still honor the card giveaway from this earlier post. The deadline for Holiday Mail is December 7th. I know we can do better than one response.

So, what do we have going on this year? Well, after a summer of some conflicts, confusion and even some hurt feelings, Iris decided all the sheep should work together and knit Hank a sweater for Christmas. Everyone contributed some yarn, even Miss Ewenice (just a little bit ;-).

I had heard some squabbling out there a couple weeks ago and wondered why Eli was caught running through the yard carrying a ball of yarn. Now it all makes sense. We're not sure who did all the knitting (Fair Isle at that!), but if I had to guess, I'd say Claire Bear.

Looks like it's officially the holiday season :-).

Enjoy!

so that includes all your animals and your new wool house? Oh, I just love it, what a real treasure to receive one of those in the mail.

Absolutely adorable!! Oh, to have such talent.
I didn't read your post about Holiday for Heroes, sorry - missed that day somehow (I really try not to :) but last week I posted the same on my blog. I sent my cards out yesterday and I have to say it feels so good. I only hope it brings a little joy to the soldiers who are doing so much. Being an ex -soldier a long time ago, I remember watching and waiting for the mail, hoping and praying there was something for me!
I know I don't have to say so, but Thanks for what you do. It really does mean alot.

Okay, I'm bundling up five cards for soldiers tonight to put in the mail tomorrow. I didn't agree to do it earlier, because frankly a card from a stranger with "generic" Christmas wishes doesn't seem very meaningful. But I will take it from Deb that ANY mail brightens a deployed soldier's day, and send some.

Thanks, Deb, for giving a glimpse from the other side. I too worried like Michelle that this was a lame venture. However, I love getting cards in the mail and it seemed easy enough to do... Glad it really does help!

What a beautiful way to celebrate the wonderful additions to your farm family and the Wool House. it is every bit as tenderly touching as the Christmas cards you've done in years past. A great treasure to have and to hold indeed!

I am sending some cards, too. Thanks for the reminder! My kids and I are working on them today.

Love your design this year, as every year! Happy Holidays.

cute as always! Well, I am hardly believing it myself, but I bought my first spinning wheel yesterday. Now if I can get it going!

Thank you for inspiring me! Your post on cards for heroes inspired me to add a project to my elementary classroom. The students painted and made beautiful cards, and I had them watch the utube video on the red cross link for understanding. They wrote some beautiful messages and I am excited to mail them tomorrow! Wonderful idea!

Another wonderful card! Thank you for such a neat 'peak' into your farm and animals.

And thanks to Deb for helping all of us see what little things we do really helps those who are taking care of us.
