In The Bleak Midwinter

I have been working hard to finish Christmas orders and completed a big project this afternoon. I grabbed my camera to take a couple pictures, took the 200 mm lens off to switch to the 18-55...and dropped it. It bounced off the table, down to the floor. I was as sick about that as I was about the creep who broke into my car the other night and stole my billfold and Magoo. This is a test picture to see that, miraculously, it was not damaged.

Thank you.

These are some cows across the road - looking out our front door. A bit bleak, but kind of nice, too. I hope everyone has a full hay feeder as the sun continues down this evening.

--------
Post script - Saint Tim has noted, while taking me out for margaritas (definitely a saint) that this is not yet mid-winter, but just the first full day of winter. Oh brother.

Oh no! Where was your car burgled? Were you able to cancel any credit cards and such quickly? I am so sorry you have to deal with that at this time of year especially, but so thankful your lens is okay. Rick is getting a ring flash for his Pentax K-7 for Christmas, and I am looking forward to trying it. :-)

Oh boy do I know that sinking feeling. What a relief that your lens is fine. Even fine after taking some cow pictures, lol.
Sorry to hear about Magoo. How is your feathered Magoo?

someone broke into your car? oh my, I'm sorry.

Yes, everybody here has full hay feeders. :-)

How awful to have your things stolen!! Such a feeling of violation when that happens. That unhappy news is a little balanced out by the lens not being damaged. I am sorry you have begun your holidays this way.

Hang on.....2010 is almost here and surely it will be better than the past year.

Thank goodness your lens is still good, especially after having your wallet and Magoo so rudely handled.

Merry Christmas.

Ha, Saint Tim beat me to it. I was also going to point out that winter 'has only just begun'..;-) It really, really feels like it's been a long, long winter already. Sorry to hear about your break in. Creeps. Glad to hear the lens survived it's tumble though.
Take care,
Tammy

Sorry to hear you had a thief. I know it's frustrating. I've had it happen to me too. Let's hope Santa makes up for it :)

Glad your lens survived the tumble and that it did not require baking! LOL. Maybe cameras have 9 lives.

Sorry about Magoo. Maybe he will return somehow. Put the thought out there to the Universe. He may be on the way home now, only taking I-275 from where ever he is!

Oh no! You sure have had a hard year. I am hoping that 2010 is much, much better for you.

Did someone take your chicken??!! Along with all the other important stuff?

We had a theft one year, a neighbor, who stole over time (at least three weeks) many small items and money in the house. Right at Christmas time. The police said the season brought out lots of stealing.

I'm glad they finally moved.
