The first morning without Salt, I found a "gifted" dead frog on the house porch. I was sad about that because I love frogs, but didn't really think much more about it. Yesterday morning I found another dead frog on the Wool House porch. As I sat on the porch this morning I heard the tell tale sounds of "Hey, I have a fresh kill for you. Come get it. Murrmeow..."
Full disclosure, Possum did bring me a dead mole a couple weeks ago, so it may just be a new phase she's in...but I more wonder if she had been bringing stuff to Salt every morning...

The gifts are for you…for your loss.
Animals are so sensitive to us. You are now the most important being in her life.
I appreciate you sharing your last time with Salt, it was a special time that meant a lot to me. I hope that does not sound morbid. I am attached to your fur, feather and wool babies. I enjoy hearing about the things that are happening with all the animals. I am sorry about Salt she was a good girl and she will be missed. I am glad that she has little Miss Possum.
I find this precious. Our gray cat has a similar behavior. It's their way of showing some love.
Possum must miss Salt very much so is bringing you gifts to say she's here for you.
Fresh meat! You have to think like a cat! :)
I'll bet she did. Mindy brings stuff to me to see and when I see it and tell her thank you she munches it down. Sammy would bring mice to our very old cat so she could have mice to eat.
She knows you're missing Salt like she is and the "gifts" are probably her way of comforting you.
She is trying to help ease the pain of your loss and hers too. Her best best friend is gone from her life. Possum is also quite the huntress.
I do like frogs and toads as well, Frodo barks at them - thank goodness!!
