A Wool(ish) House

I found a super sweet bird nest the other day.  It had blown down during a wind storm.  I love all bird nests, but this one is extra special because of all the wool in it. Buddy and/or Woolliam, Petunia and/or Daniel and Chocula, Salt and/or Hank and probably some others as well.  Here's a quick tour:

Thank you for all the calendar orders! I hope you know how much that is appreciated.  They are still "at the printers" waiting to be assembled, but luckily Tim's been busy this month.  That's appreciated as well ;-).

Some neighborhood news - there appears to be another stray cat hanging around.  Both my neighbor and I have been blaming the sightings on each other's calico cats and two days ago I broke up a fight next door in which "Betsy" took off running towards our farm...but then I found the real Betsy asleep in the house.  "Betsy's Stunt Double" was spotted between the two farms again last night.

Four bossy calico cats in one area is probably going to make for a long winter.  Why couldn't it have been a sweet orange kitty :-(.  Sigh...

sad that a stray is out and about, I wish people would take care of their pets. We live in an area where they are dumped.

Is it possible that Betsy isn't such a bad kitty after all???

Betsy has a double! I cannot imagine three bossy calico cats in one area...lucky you:)

Wow! Our cat doubles seem to be of the black/dark grey tuxedo cat variety. I have one feral that my guy named Gus. He comes by on a regular basis for food. I put him in charge of all the outdoor varmits. We are just having a little disagreement about if birds are on that list.

FOUR bossy calicos :-o. The neighbor has one as well. I think she needs to take on the "stunt double" so we both have two ;-).

Betsy IS still an ass, just now she might be in for a surprise if she sneaks up there again. The new cat isn't a scared teenager ;-).

I left New York and I sort of thought I was going to a city and random adoption by stray cats would not happen here. Well in Austin I have acquired a tuxedo boy. I think he has to belong to someone and I am his second lunch/dinner everyday although he's not getting fat. Loving, sweet, tries to trip me up when I walk, loves what I feed him, and if he's out there comes when I whistle. After I had been feeding him for a month-ish he left me a tribute on the front door mat ---- dead bird centered on my doorstep mat. We had a long discussion and several weeks later I got a lot of feathers but no corpse. He's a city boy. He comes to my place through the water feature in my front yard. It's been very dry in Austin so he's in no troubles. I'll keep feeding him ... I feel badly otherwise. I tried to send his other mom a note to ask her to contact me. My daughter-in-law had a collar with velcro so we put it on him and asked for a contact but have heard nothing. He either got it off or she doesn't mind that he is two timing his meals. He is not moving in. Clementine would object big time and she has ownership.

We have a lot of feral cats in this area. I wish Kitty Boo would have stayed, I was quite fond of him. We must have another one hanging around, the catfood in the barn is getting cleaned up and I did find cat hair from a fight about a month ago but haven't spotted the lurker.

Maybe calico stray is Possum's mama? I have a "stray" not so stray that likes my back deck. I've dubbed him Neighbor Cat Naughty. He likes to mark his territory ALL OVER and he even got my actual, sweet indoor kitty in the face through the screen of the opened patio door. The gall!!!

Ooh, I hadn't thought about if they might be related!

Love the nest with the wool. We've found nests around the farm with horse hair in them.

I wish people would take care of their cats. We have inherited a kitty from the farm across the street. She's very sweet and has adopted us too. She didn't like it where she was because they have too many dogs that are not her cup of tea. So she lives here now in the tack room.
