Things That Make You Go "Awwww"

One day last week we had an impromptu "pony party" at the farm.  A neighbor came by with her three little girls and they wanted to meet the horses.  I've said all along that as long as Frankie had his grazing muzzle on (everything has to go in Frankie's mouth, especially fingers ;-) I'd trust him with a toddler hanging off his tail.  Frankie loves everyone and he's amazingly unflappable.

Lancelot is friendly to people that he knows...and likes...but he's big and not necessarily careful where he's stepping and I'm watchful with things like water hoses around his legs because he can get startled.  I was kind of glad I could expect him to stay down the hill, away from the little visitors. Oh, and he does not really like to have his face touched.

Who was the first horse to walk up and greet the princess wearing a fancy dress?  And let her touch his face?

"Awwww :-)"

Lancelot looks so kind. Frankie too, but if Lancelot chose to put himself where he could be petted then it was a decision on his part to be kind and friendly to the little visitors. Awwww, indeed.

You know your animals so well. I'm glad Lance chose to come meet everyone and behaved well. Having met Frankie, I know what a pushy, mouthy, sweet boy he can be, LOL!

Lancelot knew a princess needed a knight in shining white armor!

Well, now that shouldn't surprise anyone...He IS Sir Lancelot afterall! Chivalry is alive and well on Equinox Farm. K. Littrell😀

A shining white steed ( doesn’t look like he’s enjoyed his dirt roll too much recently) for a princess and her retinue. A teenaged boy on his best behavior. And sweet Kate involved in it all ( I hope she got lots of royal pats too), Awwww indeed.

Nothing, I mean NOTHING is as wonderful as petting a horse on the face and breathing in the smell of horse.

Those little girls remind me of my grandnieces - stair steps age wise, and unafraid of large animals. The two oldest (baby wasn't born yet) had a great time when they visited my farm and met my goats. Who knows? Maybe I will post about them sometime on my own blog crazyhfarm.blogspot.com. Feel free to check it out, too, and thanks for the pics! They were great.
