All The Cool Kids Are Doing It

More from the April archives.

Thursday's lamb wasn't really doing anything super unusual.  Tucked up either next to or on top of your mom is a favorite baby lamb sleeping spot, especially on a cold afternoon like I remember this one was.

And being so sound asleep you don't even know you've fallen out of bed...too cute :-).

Do you know what's really special about this picture?  That is not that lamb's mother.  She was one of the grannies who had been moved into the nursery pen so she'd get a little extra food before she lambed.

Good mommas are not always your real momma :-).

The best mommas aren’t always the biological ones. Just like for humans.

So what happened after this “mature” mom had her own lamb?

I thought the adult looked ... wide............ :-)

How sweet! It takes "a flock" to raise a lambie, instead of a village.

Might be a different story if that lambie tries to nurse after granny's lamb is born. Beware, little milk thief!

The lamb had a good momma of her own. I think she just saw a warm spot to crawl into and the old ewe was okay with it :-).
