Weekend Wrap Up

Mostly what I got accomplished this past week was taking care of animals. Other than a frost bit chicken comb, so far, so good. We apparently made the national news for our all time record low of 23 below zero, actual temperature. It was sunny and no wind that morning, so I didn't have a clue.

I did get my Peerie Flooers hat finished.  Twice.  The first time I pulled it on and had flashbacks to the Mia hat.  This was an easy fix though and I just ripped back to an earlier flower pattern and re-knit the top half.  I love this hat :-).

Some more good news, the first shipment of Mug Shot mugs came the other day and they look great! I'm really happy with them - whew!  I tried to take a picture with my iPhone this a.m., but it looked terrible so I'll take some better ones later today.

More good news, for Sandy.  She was the Random.org winner of the snowy felted sheep.  Shoot me an email with your address and I'll get her shipped out as soon as possible.

And finally, if you are needing a super cute lamb fix, go check out Shepherd Life.  You'll recognize Sarah from some of the Hug a Sheep Day parties.  Go Mira! :-D

Here are some of my favorite shots from the week:

Daniel

This might be a new favorite of Hank.

The little princess ;-).  Oh, I spun up another ounce or so of her yarn.  Probably won't need it, but better safe than sorry.

Murphy.  This might have been the -23 morning.  If not, it was the -14 morning the day before.  They are all running together at this point.

Sound asleep in the sun.  Peaceful.  The way sheep should be ;-).

How did your week wrap up?

Super cold with horrid wind chills to -45 this morning. The real air temp is -21 right now. We are getting tired of staying in...that would be me and the Border Collie. Glad your animals made it through the cold spell...you should knit some chicken hats! Your hat is beautiful...love the colors:)

I'm so thankful to be HERE, instead of THERE. (Sorry) Speaking of THERE, who is it that Graham and Keebs have become grumpy OLD men and you look YOUNGER than when I visited??? I need a magic Peerie Flooers hat, or whatever it is you're having!

Beautiful hat and person wearing it! Here in central KY, we are basically snowed in for a couple more days. Most roads are passable, but back roads remain in poor condition. Stay warm and glad to hear that everyone is making it okay with your bitterly cold temps!

-23? Sheesh, what is wrong with this world? Why and how did it come to be -23 in Kentucky? It didn't even get that cold here and I'm pretty sure all that arctic air has to go through us to get to you.

Good thing you got that nice new hat. Either it'll keep you warm in this new age, or, Murphy's law will kick in and the daffodils will bloom next week. Either way, it's a win.

PS. Can't wait to see the mugs.

Glad all is well! Luckily it has stayed above zero here, with approx 8" of heavy, wet stuff. Just came in from plow/shoveling. ♡♡your hat ~ Came out perfect! That second pix of Daniel peeking through the fence Is just great!!
As the snow continues :-D I am trying to finish up corp taxes, one down, one to go. Also need to continue the spinning, and it would be SO nice to finish that shawl today.

Hey Miss Sara. Your hat is gorgeous and you look terrific. -23! I am shocked. -14, holy moley! Looking forward to seeing your mug shots. Best to you and Saint Tim. Stay warm.

The hat is a beautiful creation to remind us that Spring is just around the corner no matter how cold it is at the moment. I like it when you wear your work..... looks like it's tied with heartstrings.
I remember how you worried that Maisie wasn't getting enough to eat ( or the right kind of milk). Looks like she is not failure to thrive! I love her smile..... may she always keep that contented expression.

What a bummer about the temps! Glad those sheep have all that wool. It is only -5 here. I hope it warms up.

Better keep your eye on Daniel, lest that handsome boy gets sheepnapped by one of your Winter Workshop participants.

Goodness, your new hat is a nice bit of color in an otherwise boring world. And I cannot wait to get my hands on a mug!

Mugs, please! You guys did make national news - heard on KCBS radio about the low temps in KY a few days ago. We are in the 70s in SF Bay Area, but are very sorry about it due to the continuing severe drought conditions. Love the hat and you were very industrious to rip out and re-knit as I would have just worn in as a 'slouch' hat as-is :-)
