A Winter Prediction

Good for me...but bad for probably everyone else around here ;-). Mt Devon Meanderings left a comment on yesterday's post saying the number of days of fog in the fall predicts the number of snows in the winter.  I am so excited!  We've had a LOT of beautiful foggy mornings this fall :-D.  Here are some more shots from the other morning.

Usually Renny (front left - still hard to believe that short fat blond is her ;-) is up with the early risers, but apparently slept in the other morning.  Keebs, Willard, Graham, Blossom, Maisie, Lila head out at first light.  With Hank.  The rest meander out after their second cup of coffee.

Mia leads the way.

And then the boys.

Down across the bridge.  Chocula and Daniel stay together and Hershey heads "off road".  Into the burr patch.  Saint Tim and I picked burrs off topknots and from around chubby cheeks much of yesterday afternoon.  The access to the creek and Frog Pond?  Over for awhile!

Thank you for all the calendar orders!!!  We are going to try to have everything ready to ship in the next couple of days.  I'm working on the "over sea" shipping.  Looks like it might not be as bad as I'd feared :-).

These are some very neat pictures!
And I correctly identified all of the front and second row sheep:-). And then the (same) ones in the subsequent pictures, down to the 5th pic with Clover Belly.

I have never heard that about the fog--Now I know why I love it so much, and your photos too!

What an interesting predictor. I've not heard that one before. It will be interesting to test it out.

What wonderful photos! I wish that I could have been there to see the sheep :-)

I sure like that bridge! When I saw the recent photos of Hank and a sheep on it, I thought of the old story of Billy Goat Gruff, with Hank being the protector from the troll. ;-)

Your sheep live on Park Place.
PS-I will let you know when we have our deepest snow and you can come up for a visit...and bring Saint Tim, Auntie Reg and her husband.

We must have a faster eco system than Kentucky 'cause we had fog last night, then snow by this morning!

Love this series of pictures. Foggy, but not TOO foggy to see well ;-) The two boys (and one taking the scenic route) on the bridge is a fun one.

Very pretty! The reason I am not partial to being IN fog is because my hair goes crazy, if I could have beautiful hair then I'd been happily in it for hours :) The sheep don't have to worry about bad hair days!!

Idyllic...you do have a wonderful gift my friend.

I have never heard that saying, but I like it. We have had several foggy mornings and we are due for some snow so maybe this will be the year.

So your early risers are all bottle babies.....plus Willard. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

We had always heard it was the Fogs of August -

I LOVE all the colours of the beasties coming thru the fog. Well if the fog/snow thing is true we're dun fer. They are predicting a 'hard' winter here in N ID, whatever that means and we sure have had fog.

It will be interesting to see if the fog /snow idea is something to bank on! We have only had a day or maybe two of early morning fog:)
