Sunday Stills

"First think back or look back at past challenges here and pick 2 subjects, then shoot them in Black and white or in color and convert them, pretty simple except no repeat pics from old challenges…"

I picked only one - the Easter challenge of Religion - "This has no particular faith involved...it can be churches or icons. Mostly it's for the architecture of churches. I’ve seen some beautiful old churches, stained glass, etc…. So let your mind wander and see what ya can come up with."

This is the little country church where I play the piano. Hopewell has a small, tight knit family of parishioners, two legged and four. We regularly have several dogs in attendance, once a horse, and little lambs are not only welcomed, but encouraged.

We have air conditioning, but prefer to just open the windows. (Click to biggify - neat reflection!)

The church is surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs and birds and insects and I don't believe there's been a spring Sunday when I haven't noticed a truck and horse trailer pass by - no rest during breeding season in this, the heart of thoroughbred country.

We have no fancy stained glass windows and frequently we don't even turn on the lights, though Zachary always lights the candles.

And I enjoy sitting in the back with an old friend.

And I wonder if Dow ever gets distracted by the horses grazing across the Paris Pike. At a church of their own.

For more Sunday Stills.

~ Okay, okay! Here's a black and white of a black and white. Normally Iris is in charge of protecting the lambs. Here she's tucked herself in behind Keebler to "hide" from the thunder of yet another rain storm.

She's a good dog.

I love all of your photos and am very fond of the last one of the dog and lamb. The church photos are also fabulous...the contrast is great.

What a beautiful little church. I love that the door has an arched window over it. And the light streaming in looks great in B&W.
Thanks for including one more daily dose of Keebler!

I was enjoying the photos of your church when your last one caught me off guard! Wasn't expecting to see a lamb and a dog cuddling up- too cute.
I particularly like the photo of your piano with the sun coming through the window. Wow!

I just found your blog...I love the pics of Keebler. He reminds me of a little bottle lamb we had, Abigail (a beautiful natural colored Romney), who regularly found the way into the house to lay in front of the fan to just chill and relax. I could not keep her out of the house!
I don't have sheep any longer, and seeing your pictures, I miss them terribly. Thanks for the memories, and Wonderful Pictures!!!

Impressive photos! Your eye is the lens of your soul.
Your felted artwork, paintings and cutwork, and love for your animals reflect the same goodness.

Beautiful! We go to a small country church too. As beautiful as some of the big city churches are, there is just something about the simplicity of country churches.

Awesome photos. It's a pleasant surprise to see black and white photos. They're striking and dramatic and I wonder why people don't do them more often. I should try it too!

Love your photos - they are soooo calming and good for the soul. The one of the dog and lamb is wonderful also, and everytime I look at your photos of the lambs I want one or two or three more and more.
