I like your layout, and the font is really pretty (and big enough for my 44 year old eyes to see clearly) But it does fill up the entire computer screen so it feels a bit more "whoa".

But I will get used to it, and love it, I am sure. Everything fits on my screen - no sideways scrolling necessary - but the entire screen is filled with blog right to the edges - there is no empty colored margin on either side, so one's first reaction is "whoa". Maybe it's because my monitor is large so the effect is amplified. I'm slow to accept changes, so I'm still getting used to it, but I love the bigger pictures.Sheepmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04305606349971026553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-59131335532351772162012-01-03T13:44:24.324-05:002012-01-03T13:44:24.324-05:00It's all good. It's all good.small farm girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01485314092236803411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-15922522278670595692012-01-03T10:37:10.813-05:002012-01-03T10:37:10.813-05:00Hi, I need to add my two cents:) I would recommen...Hi, I need to add my two cents:) I would recommend knitting a hat as a first colorwork pattern--for a couple reasons. First, although bigger than mittens you get into the rhythm of a pattern as you move along the row, and it goes quickly. With mittens, you get into the groove and then have to switch needles, regroup, and regroove, even if you work magic loop method and especially on the thumbs. Second, moving from one needle to the next is a little tricky when you are first learning to strand; you need to concentrate to keep your stranded tension even. Check out Kate Davies' pattern for Sheep Heid, an awesome sheepy hat; www.textisles.com And having said all that, mittens are a great quick project and I would love to do a KAL. Love your new blog format--it comes thru perfectly in Firefox. They are "Poinsettia Mittens", a fairisle-then-felted pattern. I'm not sure I'll ever use them--they might be too bulky, but I want to knit them anyway.
