Truly, I'm not kidding!

A good part of my house flooded on Tuesday night - due to uphill neighbors not maintaining the drains in their yard + the amount of rain we've been having. I'm sleeping on the couch in the family room while the bedrooms are ripped up. Good thing = no fiber was harmed during the flood :-)Lisa Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08578642630648626753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-64240650073853541532017-01-16T20:50:43.861-05:002017-01-16T20:50:43.861-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Lisa Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08578642630648626753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-59615072677914916692017-01-16T02:08:25.668-05:002017-01-16T02:08:25.668-05:00Perfect words for a lot of rain, "slop-fest&q...Perfect words for a lot of rain, "slop-fest" !KathyB.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13076933273610590290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-4491887650428965942017-01-15T17:53:16.478-05:002017-01-15T17:53:16.478-05:00Hope you escaped the freezing rain:) Hope you escaped the freezing rain:) Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-80370690332346636002017-01-15T13:51:22.368-05:002017-01-15T13:51:22.368-05:00As anyone who's ever been to our farm knows, I...As anyone who's ever been to our farm knows, I am not a cook/baker. However, in an effort to be able to make sourdough pancakes for the Iditarod/Iknitarod this winter I got a sourdough starter...which requires weekly maintenance...which has led to me learning how to make pizza crust, simple breads and now scones :-). Amazing! Anyway, I just used the Christmas Scones recipe from King Arthur Flour http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/christmas-scones-recipe They were very tasty :-D.thecrazysheepladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10835269631172344336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-19761941016760286332017-01-15T13:47:36.752-05:002017-01-15T13:47:36.752-05:00Sourdough waffles and they were great :-D.Sourdough waffles and they were great :-D.thecrazysheepladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10835269631172344336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-72750934540410210212017-01-15T10:44:45.867-05:002017-01-15T10:44:45.867-05:00I always detest mud season, whenever it comes.

Ill-equipped, the entire Portland metro area and it's surrounding suburbs came to a standstill. Now comes the rain, the thaw, and the threat of flooding. It sure has been an interesting winter so far.

I think sweet Comby (xoxo!) has the right idea; hunker down in a donut and sleep until the rain passes...
