Weekend Wrap Up

The week's end wrap ups are working well for me! Doesn't hurt that it's winter of course, but there were actually several "spring" days this week, but only in temp, not in grass/weeks growing...  I have determined my year end goal for 2015, but now that I'm typing this out, I'm realizing that my more immediate goal is going to be to keep things moving in the "pipeline" once spring starts.  That's a pretty tough challenge.

Mini bows for mini wool wreaths.

I am quite happy with these mini wreaths and if I can figure out a way to incorporate some of their different construction ideas into the large size wreaths, everyone wins.  The large wreaths are so beautiful, but they are hand killers.

I think these are cute.  And look at all the different colors!

That's because I got four fleeces washed during the "spring break".  Light and medium gray, black and white.

Kate supervised...and I think was a bit disturbed by the whole process.  She came from a Katahdin farm, so the whole wool aspect of sheep is new to her.  You don't have to shear Katahdins and you sure don't put them in a washing machine ;-).

I think I'm getting close on the Mug Shot mug design.

And then look what happened!

So in the spirit of the Iknitarod, I pulled Maisie down out of the loft and started spinning :-).  Since she has figured so prominently (and not necessarily in a good way) during the last two years of the Iknitarod, I'm planning on knitting a Maisie sweater this year.  Hopefully that will keep her out of trouble...at least for two weeks!

Petunia and I smile at big fat snow flakes :-D.  I may have taken some a lot of snow pictures last night and this morning.

How did your week wrap up?

You got snow! Good for you , I know you like it. We have very little and it is supposed to rain tonight..it will all turn to ice. You need to explain to Kate what is going on with the wool...and your little wreaths are just perfect! :)

Is the Maisie sweater going to be a bulky knit! Love the mug shot mug to be.

I made progress on my 'intimidated by trying new things' with my beginner knitting, and thanks to a pattern a thoughtful friend gave me, and referring back to my 'Knitty Gritty' beginners book I am working on my first ever pair of wrist warmers, so far am 3/4 of the way through the first one, have done my first every thumb hole, and even some short rows to make the hand part wider than the wrist part. Final challenge is a new type of cast off using a 3rd needle, will work on that tomorrow. Very snowy here in Western NY, so I am quite happy to sit by the log fire learning new knitting skills!

You have been very productive this week! Inspirational, even ;-)
Love the little wreaths and must. have. mugs. when they're ready! Beyond cute! Great picture of Petunia and Choc in the snow. It's just starting here - was about 30 today, dropping to 18 tonight and then still dropping through the day tomorrow to below 0. Ugh.

You have been very busy...I am impressed! Love that last shot with the big snow flakes. It's 19 degrees here this morning. No spring temps for us.

I seem to have forgotten how to knit on straight needles this week. I've started two projects that haven't worked out either due to over thinking what I'm doing or having some sort of brain block. I'm hoping it isn't early onset Alzheimer's and I'm feeling pretty damn frustrated! I love the mug shot design and the mini wreaths are just adorable. :)

Hopefully not, but now you've got me worried :-o.

Yay!!! :-D

I should look up my recent complaining email to a friend about forgetting how to knit continental even though I just finished that stupid hat that way :-o. Maybe we can end up in the home together...with a few sheeps to keep up company :-).

The Pipeline...right, as soon as I find my kitchen table :) LOVE the mini wreaths and the mug and Maisie's yarn, not BULKY. Put yer glasses on auntie Reg :) Really like Petunias fleece. Came across this...http://the1764shepherdess.com/2014/12/13/spinning-spin15in15/
Just as soon as I find that kitchen table............OK, OK the wheel is NOT on the table.........no excuse.

Love the beautiful snow pictures, the mini wreaths, and the mug. I think I will need a set of those mugs! I took an all day production spinning class yesterday (my first spinning class - probably should have started at more of a beginner level) and learned so much, but am exhausted today! My brain is no longer used to intensive learning sessions :-)

After the Mug Shot mug is successful, you could put that same design on T-shirts!

I absolutely love the mugshots. I wish that I had thought of that...and then had the skill to execute it.

Love your mini wreaths! Mug shots Mug is coming along nicely, I'll need a bunch :-) Glad you mentioned the Iknitarod, Miss Spirit of winner ~ I need to decide on a project. Maisie is spinning up very nicely! Kate is learning all, yea! This past week I worked on progressing through the learning curve on the new spinning wheel; made a couple loaves of bread; stroganoff; plowed twice; and "woke up" my hibernating wip Swallowtail Shawl... so progress :-) Thanks for the inspiration! (put me down for a room at the home with the sheep)

I'm loving that mug! My week wrapped up well. I finished and posted off two little crocheted amigurumi koalas for my great nephew and great nephew-to-be in Kentucky USA. Their mum was little Aussie so we figure they need Aussie bears. :)
