So funny, I just accepted it as how she is, now that you made me look :0 it is the bobbin that is talking. Maybe when I'm not so buggered from this trip, I will find my other bobbins and put them on and see what they sound like.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00035917731271480403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-88549587921057108532015-09-25T18:23:27.495-05:002015-09-25T18:23:27.495-05:00it doesn't seem to loud to me. could definitel...it doesn't seem to loud to me. could definitely live with it- such a beautiful old wheel. but it might be bobbin chatter. II used to hear that quite a bit on my kromski and a little oil on the flyer axle really quieted it down.FullyFleecedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02112778958934264961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-76920127632193732982015-09-25T09:28:43.167-05:002015-09-25T09:28:43.167-05:00To me (a non- spinner!) she sounds just like she i...To me (a non- spinner!) she sounds just like she is purring and happy to be back at work.Shirleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15454110560303310751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-7631453783546085672015-09-25T09:26:59.087-05:002015-09-25T09:26:59.087-05:00I agree; I think her wheel has a slight warp. But ...I agree; I think her wheel has a slight warp. But I would like to think that I could be 100 years old and functional - and chatty! The BBC has posted that there's a lady (a human one, not a wheel, celebrating her 109th birthday. She credits her good health to a daily tot of whiskey. Sara, I think you should drink a tot to beautiful Hyacinthe.sophy0075https://www.blogger.com/profile/03313315186411760221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-15683972394724702412015-09-25T06:58:22.177-05:002015-09-25T06:58:22.177-05:00"Canadian production Wheel" You had me a..."Canadian production Wheel" You had me at that:):) A sweet sweet sound. Maybe it is just at lighter spot messing with my vision. I have no wheel experience. As a novice I would be worried about the chatter too. I'm not saying you have any reason to be though.

I do remember reading on Ravelry how a TV show seemed to add card-in-the-spokes sound to a great wheel. Whew there were some angry people saying a wheel should not sound like that.YarnKettlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01263040219104409447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-66943228505058706122015-09-24T15:57:34.227-05:002015-09-24T15:57:34.227-05:00Sounds great to me but I know nothing about spinni...Sounds great to me but I know nothing about spinning wheels...it was a fun video to see:)Far Side of Fiftyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07995757632158408442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-73031546933516417882015-09-24T15:51:33.347-05:002015-09-24T15:51:33.347-05:00I have watched a wheel similar to this at fiber sh...I have watched a wheel similar to this at fiber shows and I dont recall them being whisper quiet like my Lendrum. Perhaps the chatter stems from the fact that this is a single treadle wheel and that you dont necessarily press your one foot down with even force, and even speed with each push. Once the wheel slows down, it takes more energy to get whirring again and the chatter becomes a little louder ( like putting your foot on a gas peddle). I think she enjoys being tended to and talked to.... so turn the audio book up louder if she gets a little too vocal. Enjoy your new addition!Alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03940843539715709646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-18204943314156046922015-09-24T14:18:32.652-05:002015-09-24T14:18:32.652-05:00I think she chats a little too much but just be gr...I think she chats a little too much but just be grateful that she still can spin after all these years!! Perhaps you could drive it over to the Woollery on your next outing and let them look at it. My first wheel was a Canadian one which were always on the market. Not the same as yours but very similar. I found it too fragile to take to meetings so sold it and got a Louet which I still use after all these years. Her name is LouLou de laFalais!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15191067309154057558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8457557437300345355.post-64080230364349233852015-09-24T12:58:31.093-05:002015-09-24T12:58:31.093-05:00I want to spin yarn!
